Running a camp is one of the best ways to build your program, connect with athletes, and raise money for your team. But camps don’t just happen—you need the right strategies to make sure your time and effort actually pay off. Too often, coaches leave money on the table simply because they don’t approach camps with a fundraising mindset.
Here are five proven ways you can maximize revenue from your next camp:
Many coaches set camp prices too low, thinking it will help fill spots. But parents are willing to pay for quality instruction and a well-run camp. Research your local market, see what comparable camps charge, and confidently price for the experience you provide. Even a $10–$20 increase per camper can add thousands in revenue.
Instead of a single camp, consider splitting into sessions by age or skill level. This creates more opportunities for participation while making each group easier to manage. More kids = more registrations, and parents appreciate a tailored experience.
Local businesses love supporting youth sports, and camps give them a perfect platform. Sponsors can cover costs for shirts, equipment, or even scholarships for kids who can’t afford camp. Plus, they get exposure to families in the community. With Signed Up Sports, you can display sponsor logos directly on your registration site, giving businesses even more visibility than just a banner in the gym.
Parents want keepsakes, and athletes love team gear. Offering camp t-shirts, balls, or other merchandise not only builds pride but also adds another revenue stream. When bundled with registration (“$20 add-on for a camp shirt”), participation is high and margins are strong.
Don’t let the fundraising end when camp is over. Collect emails during registration and keep families engaged year-round with updates, training tips, or invites to future camps. This builds loyalty and makes it easier to fill camps every year. Returning campers are the foundation of long-term revenue.
Camps are more than just a few days of instruction—they’re a powerful fundraising tool for your program. By pricing with confidence, offering flexible options, securing sponsors, adding merchandise, and building long-term connections, you can turn your camp into a sustainable revenue stream.
At Signed Up Sports, our platform makes it simple to collect registrations, payments, and waivers—while also giving you a built-in way to sell and display sponsorships. That means less hassle for you and more revenue for your program.

As a smaller university, we need to rely on our summer camps for a multitude of reasons. We want to be able to recruit possible future athletes to our campus, we want to 'coach-up' as many athletes as possible first-hand, and we need to have our summer camps help defer any costs to our budgets throughout the year. We need to get as many teams, and individuals, to our summer camps as possible, each year, in order to help fulfill all the reasons we have summer camps in the first place. It is vital that we have a system that is simple, yet efficient, to streamline the registration process. Using an outside company to help us with our needs gives our coaches more free time to focus on other camp needs.
